Powering Growth and Innovation in C&I Solar Manufacturing

Solar Mounts, LLC is entering a new stage of growth as it expands its role as both a designer and manufacturer of commercial solar structures. Since the company’s founding, Solar Mounts has utilized 100% U.S.-sourced steel and aluminum in the fabrication of its standard components while developing innovative proprietary solutions (patents pending) to support our customers installation excellence and speed. In 2026, the company is significantly expanding its in-house manufacturing operations, providing greater control over quality, production, and customization while enhancing the reliability and design flexibility of its solar carport and ground-mount systems. This technology creates a vertically integrated approach that benefits developers, EPCs, general contractors, and asset owners.

AI-Driven Automation Enhances In-House Production

As demand for solar power infrastructure continues to grow across commercial, industrial, and utility-scale markets, Solar Mounts is investing in the future of solar component manufacturing through the addition of advanced automated robotic welding technology. Solar Mounts has integrated the latest AI-driven robotic systems into our production lines, including advanced welding stations, precision cutters, and automated drilling operations. The new robotic welding technology supports the fabrication of standard structural components as well as proprietary designs developed by Solar Mounts.

High Quality Component Manufacturing

The robotic system can rapidly execute complex weld sequences with repeatable accuracy. This new manufacturing capability allows Solar Mounts to increase production efficiency, increase throughput and accelerate delivery timelines for critical structural components used in solar carport and ground mount systems. Unlike traditional fabrication methods that rely heavily on manual welding, the robotic welding platform continuously refines its performance through adaptive programming and data-driven optimization, helping to reduce production bottlenecks while maintaining strict quality standards. These new systems represent another step in Solar Mounts’ commitment to controlling quality from raw material procurement through final installation.

Speed to Market

These new technologies enable faster, more consistent production while reducing variability between production runs and freeing our skilled workforce to focus on innovation, quality assurance. Greater manufacturing precision and improved delivery speed helps our customers benefit from shorter lead times. By integrating automated manufacturing with decades of field experience in solar carport and ground mount system installation, Solar Mounts can rapidly respond to evolving project requirements while maintaining the durability and structural integrity required for long-term solar asset performance.

Solar Mounts LLC Operational Expansion in 2026

To accommodate these technical advancements, Solar Mounts has expanded its Michigan headquarters with three additional buildings, supporting both increased manufacturing capacity and a growing workforce. On the East Coast, we’ve secured a storage facility in New Jersey to strategically position components closer to projects on the East Coast, especially in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Maryland – markets benefiting from state-level solar incentives. This expansion allows us to help contractors respond quickly to project demands and de-risk early-stage construction scheduling.

Meeting Growing Demand Amid Market Shifts

Even as federal incentives evolve, commercial, urban, agrivoltaic, and utility-scale projects, including landfill solar installations, can still leverage the Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which offers a 30% base credit plus a 10% bonus for using domestically produced components. Contractors have until July 4th, 2026, to begin physical work to secure these benefits, and Solar Mounts is actively supporting them by providing high-quality, domestically manufactured components, delivered on time to ensure solar power projects are started before the deadline. The commercial solar market continues to benefit from transformative trends: more PV modules are produced in the U.S., battery storage costs are declining, and emerging technologies like sodium-ion and molten salt batteries provide alternatives to traditional lithium iron phosphate systems. At the same time, rising electricity costs and grid uncertainty are driving businesses to adopt on-site solar power and battery storage for positive impact on utility costs, backup power, peak shaving, and load management.

Solar Mounts remains committed to domestic manufacturing, using 100% U.S.-made steel and aluminum in all operations. By combining in-house expertise with AI-driven automation, we are scaling efficiently while maintaining the craftsmanship and reliability our customers expect. These are exciting times for commercial / industrial solar. With strategic investments in manufacturing, component storage, and logistics, Solar Mounts is well-positioned to help contractors and customers navigate a rapidly evolving energy landscape with dependable nationwide service and high-quality manufactured solutions.
